Non-Destructive Editing

For this picture, I added a black and White adjustment layer to the original image. I then used to black paint brush to remove the mask from over the coins. I also bumped up the saturation a few points to get a little more of the copper color out of the coins.

For this picture, I converted the image into a smart object. I applied a Gaucian Blur to the whole image and then dropped the opacity of the blur to about 70%. I then painted black of the blur to expose the full front flower. I adjusted the opacity again to create a mid level blur on the black flower and the green stem

  1. I really like what you did with the edits. Getting the black and white but leaving the color on the coins made it look really cool. Bumping up the saturation was a great idea, it really made the coins stand out. Blurring the background on the flowers was cool, but I really like how you did two levels of blur. It really made the picture look like it had natural bokeh.

  2. The spare change edits really caught my attention. I like how the pennies contrast against the background. It also liked the way it appears the color gradually appears as the you see through the jars opening. Great job.
